Rapid and extensive depletion of fossil fuel resources and the effects of their extensive use on environmental parameters are major global challenges that nations around the world are trying to address.
A transition to renewable energy is essential, necessitating the development of advanced technologies to effectively utilize renewable resources such as agro and forestry biomass for sustainable growth. Research in bio-energy - including biomethanation, biohydrogen, bio-refineries, bioethanol, biodiesel, biomass-derived electrodes for energy production, biomass gasification, efficient biomass cookstoves, and carbon-based materials—is gaining significant global momentum due to its significant potential in addressing energy security and climate change concerns. SSS-NIBE has been actively pursuing biomass and bioenergy research, organizing four editions of the 'Recent Advances in Bio-energy Research' conference since 2011.
Building on this success, the 5th “International Conference on Recent Advances in Bio-energy Research-2025” (ICRABR-2025) is set to take place from October 6th to 9th, 2025, with an expanded global focus.
